📸 The Snapshot Model

Instagram lets you download your own data through their official Download Your Information feature. What you get is a ZIP file containing JSON files (followers_1.json and following.json) with your followers and following lists. Each file is essentially a snapshot of your account at that moment in time.

When you upload that export here, we parse it and show you everything: who doesn't follow you back, your mutual connections, how long you've followed certain accounts. That's your first snapshot.

Upload another export a week or month later, and we compare the two. That's how we detect who unfollowed - we're literally comparing two points in time. No magic, no API hacking, just straightforward data comparison.

🔐 Why No Password Is Safer

Apps that require your Instagram login are doing one of two things: either using Instagram's private API (which violates their terms and can get you banned), or scraping data while logged into your account (which Instagram detects and flags as suspicious activity).

The data export method sidesteps all of that. Instagram themselves provide the download feature. We're just analyzing files that already exist on your computer. There's no login, no session tokens, no automated requests hitting Instagram's servers on your behalf.

👥 Who This Is Actually For

This tool works well for creators and influencers who want to periodically clean up their following list. If you've followed 2,000 people over the years and want to know which ones never followed back, this shows you in seconds.

It's also useful for agencies managing multiple accounts, or anyone who got burned by sketchy apps and wants a safer alternative. You're not giving us access to anything - just uploading files Instagram already gave you.

Not the exact moment. This tool compares two data exports you upload at different times. If someone was in your first export but not the second, they unfollowed somewhere in between. For more precise timing, upload exports more frequently.

No. Requesting your data export is completely private. Instagram doesn't notify your followers, and nobody can see that you downloaded it. It's just a copy of your own information.
